Employment is strictly prohibited, regardless of any remuneration for room and board.\u00a0\u00a0The legal burden of proof is on the applicant to show they meet the visa requirements.<\/p>\n<p>You must have evidence of nonimmigrant intent; this essentially means that you will return to your home country after your temporary stay inside the States.\u00a0 You must have adequate funds to cover expenses during your travel to the United States; the officer must be convinced you can fund your trip to the States.\u00a0\u00a0 You must also have a residency in your home country.<\/p>\n<p>The following pleasure activities are permitted under the B2 tourist visa:\u00a0\u00a0 Please note just because they are permitted does not mean the consular officer has to approve you.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visiting relatives, friends socially<\/li>\n<li>Visitors coming for health or medical purposes. Remember the consular officer must be satisfied that you have the means to pay for your medical treatment which includes your hospital costs<\/li>\n<li>Conventions of social organizations.
